Sensory Description:

In the glass, Ceraso shows a deep ruby hue. The nose reveals alluring aromas of chocolate, ripe plum, cherry, and blackberry layered with subtle spice. On the palate, it is full-bodied and vibrant, unfolding flavors of black fruit, dark chocolate, and plum, balanced with earthy undertones and a hint of savory spice. Silken tannins lend elegance to its structure, while bright acidity provides lift and vibrancy. The finish is long, refined, and expressive of Campania’s volcanic soils.

Winemaker's Background:

Founded in 2004 by Giuseppe Pagano, San Salvatore 1988 quickly became one of Campania’s leading estates, rooted in organic farming and a respect for the Cilento National Park where its vineyards lie. Pagano’s vision combines tradition with innovation, supported by acclaimed winemaker Riccardo Cotarella. Beyond its wines, the estate is celebrated for biodiversity, raising water buffalo for mozzarella production and practicing sustainable viticulture across 97 hectares. Each bottling reflects a commitment to authenticity, regional character, and environmental stewardship.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve at 16–18 °C in large Bordeaux-style glasses to highlight its fruit intensity and supple tannins. An excellent match for grilled meats, roasted lamb, and hearty pastas, it also complements Mediterranean-style grilled fish and aged cheeses.
