Tasting Notes: The 2017 'Origen' exhibits an intense cherry red color with a clean, bright appearance. The nose is a complex harmony of cherries in liquor, black currant, red rose petal "Baccara," and black pepper, layered with balsamic and mineral undertones and a hint of sweet vanilla with a subtle bitter finish. The palate is fresh, modern, and versatile, marked by polished velvety tannins and a deep integration of wood and fruit. The entry is smooth, quickly amplifying the fruit intensity, leading to a long and pleasant aftertaste of black fruit and sweet vanilla.

Food Pairing: 'Origen' pairs wonderfully with various foods, including medium-bodied meats like venison, roast suckling lamb, and pork, as well as oily fish such as tuna and salmon. It complements dishes with intense flavors such as Tahini, roasted peppers, and high cocoa chocolate and stands up beautifully to rich, aged cheeses and flavorful mushrooms and fungi.

The 2017 Harvest: The 2017 vintage was marked by a cold, dry winter followed by a warmer spring that advanced the budding. A significant frost in late April reduced production levels and compacted the vegetative cycle. Despite these challenges, the grapes harvested were in immaculate health, albeit smaller and with concentrated flavors, leading to wines of exceptional quality, balanced acidity, and high-quality tannins.

About Ferratus: Ferratus is a testament to the vision and passion of María Luisa Cuevas, who leads this innovative project in Ribera del Duero. Known for its energy self-sufficiency and commitment to renewable resources, Ferratus integrates traditional winemaking with modern techniques to produce wines that resonate with "drinkable poetry." The estate focuses on producing distinctive, high-quality Tempranillo wines that reflect the rich terroir and heritage of the region.

Enjoy this exquisite expression of Ribera del Duero, a wine that truly captures the soul of its terrain and the spirit of its maker.
