Villa Spinosa Today
Villa Spinosa is situated in Negrar, on the high ground of Jago, at the foot of the Colle Masua hill. It produces traditional wines of the Valpolicella, with its vineyards located in some of the finest terroirs in the region. The estate includes converted old farmhouses for fermentation and aging, as well as a wine shop, accommodations, and event spaces. The dedicated team at Villa Spinosa, led by Director and Vineyard Manager Andrea Zaramella, combines passion with professional expertise to create wines that are a true expression of their terroir.
Serving Suggestions:
Serve the 2022 Villa Spinosa Valpolicella Classico at 57-61°F in medium-bowled glasses. It pairs excellently with classical Veronese appetizers such as salami, bacon, and polenta, as well as with dishes like cod, marinated sardines, and lake fish. Its versatility makes it ideal for informal first and second courses, typical everyday dishes, and a wide range of culinary experiences.
About the Region:
Valpolicella Classico, Veneto, Italy
Valpolicella Classico is synonymous with some of the finest wines of the broader Valpolicella area. Located in northeastern Italy, this traditional viticultural zone benefits from superior drainage, sunnier aspects, and tighter production restrictions, resulting in riper and healthier grapes. The region is renowned for its terroir, particularly around the villages of Fumane, Marano, and Negrar, where the hills rise into the fresh sub-alpine air, creating ideal conditions for grape cultivation. The primary grape varieties used include Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella, each contributing to the complex tannic and phenolic profiles of Valpolicella Classico wines.
