Sensory Description: Upon pouring, Bordiga Vermouth di Torino Rosso reveals a rich amber red hue. The nose is greeted with intense and spicy aromas, featuring a bouquet of poached pears, pink grapefruit, and fresh orange peel, interlaced with a light biscuit note and a trace of smoke. The taste is decisive and vinous, starting with a sweet note that evolves into a persistent, slightly tannic bitterness. The finish is long and complex, leaving a lasting impression of sophisticated balance.
Production: Bordiga Vermouth is crafted using only high-quality raw materials, including hand-picked Alpine botanicals from the Cuneo Alps, fine Piedmontese wines, and exotic spices. The production process is an ancient and traditional procedure that spans 40-50 days before bottling. Post-bottling, the vermouth is aged in Bordiga’s cellars at a constant temperature of about 50°F for at least 15-20 days to ensure perfect maturation. Filtration is carried out using natural methods, including refrigeration and natural paper filters.
Serving Suggestions: Bordiga Vermouth di Torino Rosso is best served chilled, between 50°F and 54°F. It pairs excellently with dark chocolate, enhancing the rich and complex flavors of both the vermouth and the chocolate. For a delightful cocktail experience, try the Bordiga Cup or an Americano.
