Trig Point Diamond Dust Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from Alexander Valley embodies the precision and character of Nick Goldschmidt’s site-specific winemaking philosophy. Named in honor of Nick's father, a land surveyor who relied on “trig points” to establish boundaries, this Cabernet Sauvignon draws from the well-protected Diamond Dust Vineyard. Situated on gravelly loam soils in Sonoma’s Alexander Valley, the vineyard enjoys ideal conditions, including morning fog and warm afternoon sunlight, which enhance the Cabernet’s concentration and complexity.

With its silky, velvet-like tannins and vibrant acidity, the wine has a long, supple finish that promises to evolve beautifully over time.

Winemaker's Background: Nick Goldschmidt, a New Zealand native, is known for his extensive winemaking career that spans the globe. After working as head winemaker for prominent brands like Simi and Clos du Bois, Nick and his wife Yolyn founded their family wine company in 1998, with a commitment to single-vineyard, artisan wines. Today, the Trig Point wines reflect Nick’s dedication to showcasing the unique qualities of exceptional vineyard sites, each crafted with the finesse and knowledge gained from his years of experience as a “flying winemaker.”

Serving Suggestions: Serve this Cabernet Sauvignon at 60-65°F to highlight its layered complexity. Pair with grilled ribeye, roasted lamb, or earthy mushroom risotto to complement its dark fruit and subtle tobacco notes. Aged cheeses such as aged cheddar or Gouda also enhance its deep flavors. This wine is an ideal choice for special occasions or a contemplative evening, offering a taste of Alexander Valley’s distinctive terroir in each sip.
