Sensory Description:

The 2020 Trifolium presents a medium ruby hue with lifted aromatics of red plum, wild strawberry, and rose petal, underpinned by earthy tones of forest floor and subtle spice. On the palate, the wine is elegant and textural, showcasing the vibrancy of Pinot Noir, the herbal snap of Trousseau, and the floral lift of Meunier. Supple tannins and bright acidity frame the wine’s graceful structure, leading to a lingering, mineral-inflected finish.

Winemaker's Background:

Founded in 1965 by David and Diana Lett, The Eyrie Vineyards was the first to plant Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. David’s intuition about the Dundee Hills’ volcanic soils, dry-farming potential, and cool climate set the standard for a region that has since become world-renowned for Burgundian varieties. Today, second-generation winemaker Jason Lett continues the legacy with an unwavering commitment to organic and regenerative farming, low-intervention winemaking, and the preservation of Oregon’s viticultural heritage.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve at 58–62°F in a Burgundy glass to enhance its aromatic complexity and texture. Pair with herb-crusted roast duck, mushroom risotto, grilled salmon, or aged Gruyère. A versatile and soulful red, Trifolium is equally suited to contemplative sipping or a lively dinner table.

Graceful, grounded, and expressive, the 2020 Trifolium is a living tribute to Eyrie’s roots and a captivating example of Oregon terroir at its most harmonious.
