Pale amber in hue with golden highlights, the 2016 Oremus Tokaji Aszú 3 Puttonyos exudes layers of fragrant complexity. Aromas of dried apricot, orange peel, acacia honey, and exotic spice leap from the glass, followed by a luscious, rounded palate of peach preserves, candied citrus, white tea, and saffron. The noble sweetness is beautifully balanced by vibrant acidity and subtle oak influence, culminating in a finish that’s both persistent and exquisitely refined.

Winemaker's Background:

Founded in 1993 by the legendary Álvarez family of Vega Sicilia, Oremus was born from the desire to restore one of Europe’s oldest and most prestigious wine regions. Located in the village of Tolcsva, the estate rests atop 13th-century cellars and oversees 100 hectares of historic vineyards across Tokaj. Oremus wines are crafted with utmost care, using traditional methods including manual harvesting of botrytized Aszú berries, gentle maceration in Gönc barrels, and long, slow fermentations that preserve purity and complexity. The winery remains a benchmark for Tokaji excellence and continues to champion the traditions that have defined the region for centuries.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve lightly chilled at 8°C (46°F) in a small white wine glass to appreciate the full aromatic spectrum. A natural companion to foie gras, seared scallops, or blue cheese, it also shines alongside fruit tarts, honeyed nuts, or as a luxurious digestif on its own.

The 2016 Oremus Tokaji Aszú 3 Puttonyos is a timeless treasure, an elegant, storied wine that delivers purity, poise, and the soul of Tokaj in every glass.
