The 2023 Summer Wolff 'Ette' is the second edition of this expressive and thoughtful white wine, crafted entirely from the rare Baratuciat grape, native to Piedmont. This vintage reflects both the challenges and rewards of the growing season, with favorable conditions in Summer Wolff's vineyards sparing them from the severe hail damage that affected much of the region. Benefiting from increased rainfall through spring, the vines flourished, producing a lively, textured, and nuanced wine that captures the spirit of the land and the patient approach of its maker.

Sensory Description:

The 2023 'Ette' is a wine of purity and texture. On the nose, it reveals delicate aromas of stone fruit, fresh citrus, wildflowers, and subtle herbal undertones, speaking clearly of its Piedmontese terroir. The palate is both bright and soft, carrying a gentle grip from the extended skin contact that enhances its minerality and creamy mouthfeel, while a fine line of acidity keeps the wine fresh and energetic. The finish lingers with nuances of ripe orchard fruit and savory earthiness, a true reflection of the unique Baratuciat grape.

Winemaker's Background:

Summer Wolff, after decades immersed in the European wine world, turned her passion and vision into her winemaking project, Az. Agr. Summer Wolff, nestled in the same valley as Cascina Iuli, her husband’s winery. With just 2 hectares of land, she focuses on native varieties and minimal intervention practices. Her wines are shaped by a deep commitment to natural farming, honest winemaking, and personal exploration, reflecting her palate and story. The 'Ette' project, born from her creative curiosity, continues to express her love for fresh, vibrant wines with soul and drinkability.

Serving Suggestions:

Best served slightly chilled at 50-55°F, 'Ette' is a versatile companion to a wide range of dishes, from grilled vegetables, seafood risotto, and creamy goat cheese, to lighter poultry dishes and charcuterie. The wine’s delicate texture and vivid freshness make it perfect for al fresco dining, casual gatherings, or contemplative sipping.
