Lustau’s 'Almacenista' series celebrates the artistry of traditional independent sherry aging, and this Manzanilla Pasada from Manuel Cuevas Jurado exemplifies that legacy with saline finesse and quiet intensity. Aged in a solera of just 80 casks in the bodegas on Calle Trabajadero in Sanlúcar de Barrameda, this wine bridges youthful freshness and the nuanced complexity of age. Its maritime character and subtle evolution on the palate make it one of the finest examples of Manzanilla Pasada available today.

Winemaker's Background:

Bodegas Lustau was founded in 1896 by José Ruiz-Berdejo and later expanded under Emilio Lustau Ortega into one of Spain’s most respected sherry houses. In the 1980s, Lustau revolutionized the industry with its 'Almacenista' line, showcasing small-scale sherry producers like Manuel Cuevas Jurado. Today, under the guidance of Sergio Martínez, five-time IWC Fortified Winemaker of the Year, Lustau continues to set the global standard for excellence and tradition in fortified winemaking. As part of the Luis Caballero Group since 1990, Lustau produces wines in all three cities of the Sherry Triangle and remains the only winery to do so.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve well chilled at 7–9°C (44–48°F). This Manzanilla Pasada is excellent as an aperitif with almonds, olives, and other tapas, and pairs beautifully with fresh oysters, seafood, or white fish. Its refreshing salinity also makes it a compelling match for lightly spiced dishes and coastal fare.

This is a sherry of elegant power and maritime precision, refined, expressive, and deeply rooted in place. Lustau’s Almacenista Manzanilla Pasa
