Sensory Description Fortaleza Reposado opens with a distinctive nose of citrus, caramel, butter, and cooked agave, subtly layered with hints of sage. On the palate, it is delightfully balanced, revealing flavors of sweet cooked agave, bright citrus, vanilla, apple, earth, and a touch of cinnamon spice. The finish is long, rich, and elegantly smooth, offering a slightly oily texture with a gentle, lingering spiciness—a true pleasure to sip and savor.

Producer's Background Fortaleza Tequila embodies over 150 years of tequila heritage rooted in the Jalisco region. Founded by Don Cenobio in 1873, this legacy began with La Perseverancia distillery, where he pioneered methods such as steam-cooking agave and exclusively using Blue Agave for tequila production. His son, Don Eladio, expanded the reach of tequila globally, while his grandson, Don Javier, defended its authenticity, helping to establish the Denomination of Origin for Tequila. Although the original distillery paused operations in 1968, Don Javier’s grandson, Guillermo, revived the family’s tequila tradition in 1999 by reopening Destileria La Fortaleza. Today, Fortaleza honors these family traditions by producing tequila using the same artisanal methods established generations ago.

Serving Suggestions Serve Fortaleza Reposado neat or on the rocks to fully appreciate its complex flavors and velvety texture. This reposado is ideal for sipping at around 65°F to 70°F, allowing the rich aromas and flavors to open up. Perfectly paired with citrus-marinated seafood, grilled pork, or even a light mole dish, Fortaleza Reposado also complements the flavors of soft cheeses and roasted nuts, making it an exceptional choice for both special occasions and casual gatherings.
