Winemaker’s Background

Briana Heywood has a decade of hands-on winemaking experience that bridges both boutique and large-scale wineries, making her uniquely equipped to bring balance and precision to Donati’s portfolio. After earning degrees in Enology and Wine Business from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, she honed her craft at J. Lohr, Eberle Winery, and Gallo. Since joining Donati Family Vineyard in 2016, Briana has been at the helm, ensuring every bottle reflects the family’s commitment to quality and approachability. While the Donati family planted roots in Paicines back in 1998, today they focus solely on Paso Robles AVA fruit, working with trusted vineyard partners across California’s Central Coast.
