Famille Helfrich, Alsace, France, Gewurztraminer, 2019
Wine Dispensary Tasting Notes:
The aroma on this wine is intense – opening up with notes of lychee, passion fruit and white flowers. Mid palate the wine appears honeyed and long, which leads into a delicate yet spicy finish.
About the Producer:
The Helfrich family has been making wine and Eaux de vie for six generations. Eaux de vie is fruit brandy, think cherry brandy or Kirsch schnapps. Joseph Helfrich took over the helm in 1979 and has since then grown Famille Helfrich to the second largest wine producer in France – quite the task! His children Fredrich and Anne-Laure recently took over operations – they aim to grow internationally, finding new markets across the globe.
Pairs Best With:
As an Aperitif By Itself
Chilean Sea Bass with Lightly Sautéed Veggies
Light Lemon with a Shortbread Crust Tart
