A Champagne with soul, ‘Résonance’ is the purest expression of Pinot Noir from the Côte des Bars—precise, mineral-driven, and deeply evocative of its terroir. Crafted by Dominique Moreau, a winemaker whose approach is equal parts intuition and meticulous care, this cuvée reflects her belief in balance—between earth and sky, vine and wine, structure and finesse. A rare gem among grower Champagnes, ‘Résonance’ is as much a sensory experience as it is a reflection of the land that bore it.

Sensory Description:

Jessica Barrand, co-founder of Boulevard Bottle Shop, calls ‘Résonance’ a Champagne of “cut and clarity, but with a quiet generosity—like a sharp mineral edge softened by the warmth of sunlight.” The nose opens with citrus zest, white flowers, and a briny sea breeze minerality. On the palate, crisp green apple and fresh pear give way to delicate notes of almond, chalk, and subtle spice. The finish is long and precise, with a saline lift that lingers, urging another sip.

Winemaker’s Background:

Dominique Moreau founded Champagne Marie Courtin in 2005, naming it after her grandmother, a woman she describes as deeply connected to the earth. Her vision was to produce single-vineyard, single-variety, single-vintage Champagnes that speak entirely of place—without dosage, without manipulation, and with a biodynamic approach that honors the energy of the vineyard. She even employs pendulums, a tool of energy healing, to assess the vibrational balance of her vines and wines during élevage.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve ‘Résonance’ at 48–50°F in a white wine glass rather than a flute—its layered complexity benefits from aeration. This is an exquisite food Champagne, perfect alongside oysters, briny cheeses, or delicate fish crudo. It also pairs beautifully with creamy dishes, where its sharp mineral backbone cuts through richness with ease.

Marie Courtin Champagnes have developed a cult following, and ‘Résonance’ is one of the most sought-after cuvées. With production limited to just 7,700 bottles, securing a bottle is a rare opportunity. This is a Champagne to drink now for its energy and precision or to cellar for a few years as its layers continue to unfold.
