Few wines live up to their name as effortlessly as Marie Courtin’s ‘Indulgence’—a Champagne that is both electric and deeply sensual, with a precise structure that speaks to the strength of its terroir. This is not your typical rosé Champagne; it’s a striking expression of Pinot Noir, given four days of skin contact to achieve a luminous hue and a complex, savory depth. Made with an unwavering commitment to biodynamics and zero dosage, ‘Indulgence’ is a Champagne for those who crave purity, tension, and soul in their sparkling wines.

Sensory Description:

Jessica Barrand, co-owner of Wine Dispensary, describes ‘Indulgence’ as “a Champagne that hums with energy—it’s savory, briny, and complex, yet it still has this beautiful silkiness that keeps you coming back for another sip.” The nose bursts with wild strawberries, tart cherries, and blood orange, laced with floral hints of hibiscus and rose petal. The palate is precise and racy, with a saline minerality that gives way to layers of red berries, citrus zest, and a subtle spice from its time in barrel. The finish is long, structured, and mouthwatering—this is a Champagne that leaves a lasting impression.

Winemaker’s Background:

Dominique Moreau founded Champagne Marie Courtin in 2005, naming it after her grandmother, a woman she remembers as strong, intuitive, and deeply connected to the land. Her philosophy rejects the large-house mentality of blending multiple vineyards and vintages, instead focusing on single-parcel, single-variety, single-vintage wines that express their terroir with absolute clarity. Dominique embraces spirituality in her winemaking, using pendulums to assess the energy of her vineyards and wines, believing that balance in nature translates to harmony in the glass.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve ‘Indulgence’ at 48–50°F in a white wine glass to allow its aromatics and texture to fully unfold. This is a gastronomic rosé Champagne, best enjoyed with food—think duck breast with cherry compote, tuna crudo with citrus and sea salt, or aged Comté cheese. Its balance of fruit, acidity, and minerality also makes it a surprising and stunning pairing for umami-driven dishes like miso-glazed salmon or mushroom risotto.

Availability & Collectibility

With production from just 0.3 hectares of vines, ‘Indulgence’ is an exceedingly rare find. Each bottle reflects Dominique Moreau’s meticulous care and deep connection to her land. Whether enjoyed now for its vibrancy or aged for even greater complexity, this is a Champagne that rewards the patient and the curious alike.
