Sensory Description:

The Collection Brut opens with bright aromas of white fruits, citrus, and subtle chalky minerality. On the palate, layers of cherry and verbena add complexity to a wine that is at once round, creamy, and delicately fresh. The inclusion of Pinot Blanc, a rarity in Champagne, enhances the wine’s suavity and provides a gourmand richness that lingers into a smooth, indulgent finish. Balanced dosage supports a refined harmony of freshness and depth.

Awards & Accolades:

  • 90 Points – James Suckling: “A fine and refreshing Champagne with aromas of lemons, chalk, and white pears. Dry, crisp, clean with a lemony finish.”
  • Wine Enthusiast: “Soft, creamy, balanced. The relatively high dosage gives the wine a gentle aftertaste.”

Winemaker's Background:

Founded in 1970 by brothers Daniel and Michel Gyéjacquot, the house remains a family affair, now run by the second generation, Cyril and Frédéric. Their vineyards span seven villages across the Côte des Bar, with plots like Champ-du-Clos, Val-lune, and Chante-Merle. The family’s motto, “Only good grapes produce good wine,” guides their integrated, sustainable viticulture. Their innovative use of Pinot Blanc highlights the estate’s commitment to preserving Champagne’s rare traditions while embracing eco-conscious farming. The river L’Ource plays a key role in moderating vineyard temperatures, creating protective mists in winter and enabling slow, even grape maturation.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve well chilled at 45–48 °F in a flute or tulip glass to showcase its freshness and creamy mousse. This Champagne pairs beautifully with seafood such as oysters, scallops, and prawns, as well as light pasta dishes, risotto, poultry, and savory pies. It is equally delightful as an aperitif, bringing refinement to any gathering.

The Gyejacquot Frères Collection Brut is a Champagne of heritage and innovation, an elegant blend that expresses the richness of Pinot Noir, the finesse of Chardonnay, and the rare charm of Pinot Blanc. With its balance of freshness and complexity, it’s a sparkling wine that turns any moment into a celebration.
