Alive with pink hue and framed by high-density Friulian soils, the 2020 Giuseppe & Luigi Anselmi ‘Millesimato’ Prosecco Rosé captures the fresh, floral spirit of the Veneto-Friuli border. This rosé sparkling wine combines clarity, aromatics, and crisp energy in a delightfully expressive bottle.

Product Details:

  • Vineyards / Vineyard Holdings: The brand holds 8 hectares of Glera vineyards around Pocenia, just south of Udine; vines are roughly 20 years old and planted at high density to naturally lower yields
  • Climate / Terroir Factors: The strong Bora winds of Friuli help preserve aromatic intensity and freshness
  • Grapes: Glera  with Pinot Noir
  • Vinification: Temperature-controlled fermentations, modern bottling by Anselmi (owns its own sparkling bottling line)
  • Alcohol: Typically around 11–12.5%

Sensory Description:

The nose is bright and inviting, with fresh notes of rose petal, grapefruit zest, red berry, and a hint of wild florals. On the palate, the wine is lively and crisp, featuring red cherry and pomegranate fruit, subtle citrus lift, fine mousse texture, and delicate mineral undertones. The rosé element adds a gentle fruit generosity that balances the Prosecco spritz character. The finish is clean, with persistence and graceful pink fruit resonance.

Winemaker's Background:

Giuseppe & Luigi Anselmi operate under the Giuliana Imports umbrella. The Anselmi brothers manage production, drawing on their family’s mid-Friuli holdings and expertise in winemaking. Although the label is negociant in nature, much of the Prosecco and rosé fruit is sourced from vineyards in Friuli and near Udine. The estate emphasizes yield control, vineyard care, and bottling capacity to retain freshness and character in its sparkling portfolio.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve chilled at 8–10 °C in a tulip or white wine glass. It makes an elegant aperitif and pairs beautifully with shellfish (shrimp, oysters), smoked salmon, light sushi or sashimi, charcuterie, soft cheeses, and fresh seasonal fruit. It also shines in brunch settings or summer gatherings.

2020 Giuseppe & Luigi Anselmi ‘Millesimato’ Prosecco Rosé balances the effervescence and floral brightness of a rosé with the freshness and minerality integral to the Veneto-Friuli region. Made by a dedicated Anselmi negociant operation, it delivers a sparkling rosé that is both expressive and food-friendly, an excellent example of Italian pink bubbles with personality and regional nuance.
