Sensory Description:

The 2024 Blanc bursts from the glass with notes of lemon zest, honeysuckle, white peach, and freshly cut herbs, carried by a mineral streak that evokes wet limestone and mountain air. On the palate, it’s delicate yet expressive, a lively interplay of orchard fruit, floral lift, and crystalline acidity. Riesling lends citrus and structure, while Muscat and Gewurztraminer weave subtle spice and perfume through the wine’s silken texture. The finish is pure and saline, a bright echo of the stony terroir beneath.

Winemaker's Background:

Founded in 1795, Maison Kuentz-Bas has stood as a guardian of Alsace’s vinous identity for over two centuries. Its rebirth under the stewardship of Jean-Baptiste and Laure Adam has restored the estate’s historic prestige, introducing biodynamic farming and a renewed focus on terroir expression. Winemaker Olivier Raffin leads the cellar with a minimalist touch, hand-harvesting, whole-cluster pressing, and patient aging in ancient oak casks. The result is a range of wines that honor the past while capturing the vibrant pulse of today’s Alsace.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve chilled, around 46–50°F (8–10°C), to let the aromatics bloom. This versatile white pairs beautifully with Alsatian classics like tarte flambée or Munster cheese, as well as more adventurous dishes such as crab cakes, grilled brats, or potato samosas. It’s equally at home as an aperitif, where its freshness and texture shine on their own.

The 2024 Kuentz-Bas Blanc is an ode to the timeless beauty of Alsace, layered, lyrical, and refreshingly alive. It’s a wine that turns any meal into a celebration of craft and place.
