Sensory Description:

This is a textbook expression of Pinot Grigio with extra layers of depth. Aromas of citrus zest, acacia blossom, and ripe green apple rise from the glass, accented by wet stone and a faint herbal edge. On the palate, it shows clean precision, refreshing acidity balanced with subtle concentration from the clay soils and cooling sea breezes. The finish lingers with citrus and saline minerality, leaving a mouthwatering impression.

Winemaker's Background:

Il Ceppo was founded in 1928 by the Anselmi family in Pocenia, Friuli Latisana, a region with centuries of viticultural heritage. Now run by brothers Enrico and Fabio, the estate encompasses 170 hectares of vineyards farmed with respect for tradition and the environment. The Domus line reflects their mission to deliver authentic Friulian wines that are approachable, varietally true, and elevated by the unique coastal terroir. Four generations of experience ensure a balance between modern technique and the wisdom of the land.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve well-chilled at 8–10 °C. This Pinot Grigio is ideal as an aperitif or alongside fresh seafood, grilled calamari, shellfish, and light pastas with olive oil and herbs. It also pairs beautifully with vegetable antipasti, soft cheeses, and summer salads.

The 2023 Domus Pinot Grigio Friuli Latisana proves that Pinot Grigio, when grown in Friuli’s coastal vineyards, can be more than just refreshing, it can be textured, vibrant, and full of character. The Anselmi family’s dedication shines in every sip, making this an affordable yet authentic taste of one of Italy’s most prized white wine regions.
