Sensory Description
Hornitos Plata delivers a bright and clean sensory experience from the very first pour. On the nose, the spirit opens with a fresh bouquet of cooked agave and citrus peel, laced with subtle herbal notes of mint and a wisp of white pepper. The palate is crisp and agave-forward, revealing green apple, lime zest, and delicate floral hints with a lightly earthy undertone. Its medium-bodied texture carries through to a clean, dry finish punctuated by lingering herbal spice and a touch of minerality—making it a compelling choice for those who appreciate tequila in its purest, most expressive form.

Distiller's Background
Founded in 1873 by Don Cenobio Sauza—widely credited as one of tequila’s founding figures—Casa Sauza has played a pivotal role in shaping the modern tequila industry. Located in the town of Tequila in Jalisco, the distillery is known for its innovations, including being among the first to export tequila to the U.S. and to adopt steam-cooking methods. Hornitos was introduced in 1950 by Don Francisco Javier Sauza, the third-generation master distiller, as a bolder expression made exclusively from 100% blue agave—unusual for its time. Today, Casa Sauza continues to blend tradition with technology, using high-efficiency autoclaves and stainless steel fermentation to deliver consistent quality without sacrificing authenticity.

Serving Suggestions
Hornitos Plata is best served slightly chilled or at room temperature (65–68°F) to appreciate its bright agave character. While smooth enough to sip neat or enjoy in a classic caballito glass, it also shines in cocktails that call for a crisp, clean base—think classic Margaritas, Palomas, or even a refreshing Tequila & Soda with lime. Pair it with citrus-marinated ceviche, grilled shrimp tacos, or jicama-chili salad to elevate its citrus and herbal notes.
