Sensory Description:

The wine pours a crystalline pale salmon pink, with a delicate nose of wild strawberries, white peach, and rose petals. On the palate, it is light-bodied, dry, and lifted by crisp acidity, revealing subtle flavors of red berries, grapefruit zest, and crushed stones. The finish is long and refreshing, with a saline minerality that speaks of its high-elevation Provençal origin.

Winemaker's Background:

Château Pigoudet is a family-run estate nestled in the northeastern quadrant of the Côteaux d'Aix-en-Provence AOP. Originally established in the 16th century, it was revitalized by Bernhard and Elke Schmidt in 1992. Today, the estate is maintained by two generations of the family, with a dedicated team overseeing all aspects of viticulture and winemaking. With vineyards perched at 400 meters, the estate benefits from cool mountain air, strong Mistral winds, and southern exposure, providing ideal conditions for slow, balanced grape ripening. Pigoudet is widely admired for its sustainable practices and meticulous winemaking.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve well-chilled at 45–50°F (7–10°C). This versatile rosé is an ideal companion to grilled vegetables, Niçoise salad, seafood paella, fresh goat cheese, or a light tomato tart. It’s also perfect on its own as an apéritif under a summer sky.

Refined yet playful, the 2024 Château Pigoudet 'Première' Rosé is Provençal rosé at its most pure and expressive—crafted to delight and refresh in every glass.
