Sensory Description:

Delicate yet layered, this rosé opens with a fragrant nose of wild strawberries, rhubarb, pink grapefruit, and hints of peach yogurt, enlivened by the subtle spice of white pepper. On the palate, crisp cranberry and blackcurrant flavors unfold against a backdrop of light creaminess, delivering a refreshing yet textured mouthfeel. The interplay of fruit, acidity, and spice ensures this is no simple “candy rosé” but a wine of precision and elegance that lingers with balance and finesse.

Winemaker's Background:

Founded in 1849 and revitalized under the leadership of winemaker Stephan Attmann, Weingut von Winning has earned a reputation as one of Germany’s most dynamic estates. Attmann, inspired by his experiences in Burgundy’s Côte d’Or, employs high-density planting, sustainable and organic vineyard practices, and gravity flow winemaking. This artisanal approach allows the estate to capture the nuances of their vineyards in Deidesheim, Forst, and Ruppertsberg, translating Pfalz’s unique terroir into wines of remarkable character and depth.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve well-chilled at 8–10°C (46–50°F) in a medium-sized white wine glass to highlight its aromatics and texture. Perfect on its own, it also pairs beautifully with grilled seafood, charcuterie, roasted poultry, herbed vegetable dishes, and soft cheeses. Its crispness and subtle spice also make it an excellent match for summer salads and lighter Asian-inspired cuisine.

This is a rosé of substance, crafted with Burgundian inspiration and German precision, offering freshness, structure, and complexity in equal measure. More than just a seasonal wine, it’s an all-year rosé that invites you to pour a second glass.
