The wine’s vibrant acidity and dry finish make it an excellent choice for those who appreciate refreshing yet complex white wines.

Winemaker’s Background:
Mario Zanusso, the visionary winemaker behind this Pinot Grigio, is committed to producing wines that are a pure expression of their grape origin. His meticulous approach to winemaking, from vineyard to bottle, emphasizes precision and simplicity. Mario employs the use of steel tanks and cement vats in his cellar, which ensures the lightness and clarity of the wines he crafts. His process focuses on preserving the natural qualities of the grapes, with minimal intervention to achieve wines of remarkable definition and elegance.

Viticulture & Soil:
The Pinot Grigio vines are planted on calcareous-clay soils in the heart of Friuli, an area historically recognized for its premium wine production. The vineyard's location, at an altitude of 200 meters, combined with its soil composition, helps produce grapes that ripen slowly and develop complex flavors. This unique terroir has been recognized since 1787 when Queen Maria Theresa of Austria classified it among the Crus of the County of Gorizia-Gradisca.

Winemaking Process:
The grapes for this Pinot Grigio are hand-harvested and whole cluster pressed to preserve delicacy. The juice undergoes cold settling and native yeast fermentation at controlled temperatures below 72°F (22°C). The wine ferments to dryness over 14 days, followed by six months of aging on fine lees with battonage (stirring) twice a month to enhance texture and complexity.

Serving Suggestions:
Serve chilled at around 45°F. This Pinot Grigio pairs beautifully with light salads, seafood, grilled vegetables, and fresh pasta dishes. Its crisp and refreshing nature also makes it an ideal aperitif or a perfect companion for summer gatherings and outdoor picnics.

Awards:
