Crafted with meticulous care in the heart of Chianti Classico, Podere Capaccia’s Sangiovese captures the essence of Radda’s renowned terroir. Harvested in late September, each cluster undergoes rigorous selection, followed by destemming and berry sorting on a vibrating table. Gravity-fed into fermentation tanks, the must ferments over four weeks with precise pump-overs and delestage to ensure optimal extraction of color, flavor, and tannins.

Sensory Description
The wine presents a dark and rich red hue, with a powerful bouquet of dark cherries intertwined with floral notes. On the palate, it offers marked acidity, balanced tannins, and a pleasant softness, showcasing traditional Chianti Classico character. Aromas evolve into nuanced layers of red mulberry, cinnamon, and pepper leaf, accented by hints of clementine zest. The finish reveals brackish minerality, a return of small red fruits, and subtle spicy sensations.

Producer’s Background
Podere Capaccia, nestled in the hills of Radda in Chianti, is dedicated to producing wines that honor tradition while embracing modern techniques. Under the stewardship of Herman De Bode, with winemaker Alyson Morgan and vineyard manager Donato Alvino, the estate has revitalized ancient vineyards and built a state-of-the-art winery to craft wines reflective of the unique terroir.

Serving Suggestions
Serve this Chianti Classico at 60–65°F. It pairs beautifully with traditional Tuscan dishes such as bistecca alla Fiorentina, wild boar ragu, or aged Pecorino cheese. The wine’s balanced acidity and structured tannins make it equally delightful alongside hearty pasta dishes or roasted game.
