Crafted as a tribute to the exalted oyster and the legendary Pacific Walrus—nature’s original shellfish connoisseur—the 2023 Mothershucker Dry White is a bright, sea-kissed blend from Oregon’s finest vineyard sites. This expressive white channels the coastal air and volcanic soils of the Willamette and Umpqua Valleys into a wine that’s both textural and invigorating. Made for briny bivalves, seafood feasts, and groaning platters of shellfish, this bottle is a true celebration of the Pacific Northwest’s maritime bounty.

Sensory Description:

This vibrant white opens with aromas that evoke ocean breeze, coastal wildflowers, and citrus peel carried on salty winds. The palate is generous and tactile, offering a blend of stone fruit, citrus zest, and a textured minerality that coats the tongue while remaining refreshingly dry. A subtle salinity and misty freshness ride through the finish, bringing the wine full circle, straight back to the coast. From the first whiff to the lingering, briny close, it sings of oysters, tidepools, and rugged Pacific shores.

Winemaker's Background:

Founded by vintner Matt Berson and designer Angela Reat, Portland Wine Company’s ethos is rooted in authenticity, curiosity, and a love of simple pleasures. Matt’s journey from the restaurant floor to vineyard rows took him from Oregon to winemaking stints in New Zealand, Napa, Germany, and Argentina. Angela, a world-traveled creative force, brought her design expertise to the visual identity and branding of the wines. Together, they’ve built a label that embraces modesty, humor, and a deep respect for the winemaking process. Today, their urban winery in Portland crafts honest, personality-driven wines under the Love & Squalor and Mothershucker labels—each one a liquid postcard from Oregon.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve chilled at 8–10°C in a white wine glass to preserve its brisk aromatics and sea-breeze freshness. This dry white is a natural match for oysters on the half shell, Dungeness crab, steamed clams, or grilled fish tacos. It also plays beautifully alongside coastal fare like seaweed salad, ceviche, or a chilled shellfish platter.

The 2023 Mothershucker Dry White is a crisp, aromatic celebration of the Pacific Northwest’s maritime soul—crafted to honor the humble oyster, and the delicious moments it inspires.
