Sensory Description:

Nature Peinture Rouge is textured and spicy, unfolding with savory tension and a core of dark fruit. Its robust tannins are softened by time and air, lending structure to the wine’s earthy and energetic character. It manages to feel grounded in the cool seasons while retaining a nimble brightness that makes it equally suited for warmer months.

Winemaker's Background:

Mas Pas-Re is the inspired project of Julien Trichard and Sara Hernandez, a duo committed to reshaping the narrative of natural wine in southern France. Working from a repurposed cooperative cellar in Vendémian, they farm organically across 11 hectares split between the garrigue-covered hills of Gignac and the clay-limestone soils of Plaissan. Their vineyard philosophy prioritizes low yields, hand harvesting, mature vines, and minimal soil disturbance, with Kiwi the workhorse lending a hoof. In the cellar, they follow a strict no-input approach, championing spontaneous fermentations and aging in neutral vessels to preserve each wine’s raw, regional identity.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve lightly chilled, between 58–62°F, to highlight the wine’s natural freshness and spice. Ideal for both winter feasts and summer grillades, this red pairs effortlessly with chargrilled lamb, roasted root vegetables, or eggplant dishes. It’s a versatile and characterful bottle, ready to impress purists and adventurers alike.

The 2022 Mas Pas-Re Nature Peinture Rouge is a pure, living wine that channels Languedoc’s rustic elegance with honesty and conviction, an ideal companion for soulful meals and curious palates.
