Sensory Description:

Opaque ebony in color with an iodine rim, this wine opens with an intricate bouquet of dried figs, dates, roasted coffee, cocoa, and liquorice. On the palate, it is rich with layers of crème caramel, barley sugar, nutty undertones, and warm Christmas spices. Despite its depth and density, a touch of acidity offers balance, leaving the palate clean and lifted. This is an incredibly luscious yet refined sherry, finishing long and savory.

Winemaker's Background:

Founded in 1896 by José Ruiz-Berdejo, Lustau began as an almacenista, aging wines for larger houses. Under the stewardship of Emilio Lustau in the mid-20th century and later integration into the Luis Caballero Group in 1990, the bodega grew into one of Spain’s most prestigious sherry producers. Today, Lustau is internationally recognized for its innovation, heritage, and exceptional range of solera-aged wines that exemplify the traditions of Jerez.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve chilled at 13–14°C in a proper sherry glass to best appreciate its depth and nuance. Ideal as a contemplative sipper on its own or with blue cheeses, roasted nuts, or spiced desserts like sticky toffee pudding.

A true benchmark of the Oloroso style, this sherry delivers a compelling harmony of richness and structure, aged complexity, and freshness. From its impeccable pedigree to its unmatched accolades, this is a bottle for the serious aficionado or anyone ready to explore the extraordinary depths of mature sherry.

Port & Sherry

Port and Sherry, two fortified wines from the Iberian Peninsula, stand as enduring symbols of richness, complexity, and cultural tradition.

Though both are crafted through the fortification of wine with grape spirit, their divergent origins, styles, and aging methods yield profoundly different drinking experiences.

Port, hailing from Portugal’s Douro Valley, is opulent and fruit-driven, often enjoyed as a luscious after-dinner pour.

Sherry, produced in Spain’s Jerez region, offers a remarkable spectrum—from bone-dry and savory to decadently sweet—embodying both rustic charm and refined elegance.

Together, they represent the fortified category at its most expressive and storied.
