The 2023 Left Coast Cellars White Pinot Noir is a testament to curiosity and craft, born as an experiment and blossomed into one of the estate’s most beloved wines. By pressing Pinot Noir fruit at cold temperatures to minimize color extraction, then fermenting and aging in stainless steel on the lees, the winemaking team has created a wine that bridges two worlds: the aromatic body of Pinot Noir combined with the brightness and lift of a white wine.

Sensory Description:

Pale straw in the glass, the wine opens with expressive aromas of orange blossom, peach, and lychee. The palate is lifted and vibrant, offering the body and subtle depth of Pinot Noir but expressed through the crisp, fruit-forward lens of a white wine. Layers of ripe orchard fruit and tropical florality are supported by refreshing acidity and a clean, polished finish. Textured from lees aging yet bright with energy, this White Pinot Noir balances exuberance and elegance in equal measure.

Winemaker's Background:

Left Coast Estate, founded in 2003, is a family-owned winery set on nearly 500 acres in Oregon’s Van Duzer Corridor. Sustainability and biodiversity are central to the estate’s philosophy, with more than 100 acres of native oak savanna restored, solar energy powering vineyard operations, and Salmon Safe and LIVE certifications achieved. With vineyards planted to seven grape varieties, the estate crafts wines that reflect the unique terroir shaped by cooling coastal breezes and marine sedimentary soils. Beyond winegrowing, the family’s long-term stewardship includes community engagement, ecological restoration, and legacy-minded ownership shared across generations. Left Coast wines consistently rank among the top tier globally, recognized for both quality and sustainability.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve chilled at 45–50 °F in a white wine glass to emphasize its freshness and aromatic lift. This wine pairs beautifully with fresh seafood like grilled halibut or scallops, spring salads with citrus vinaigrette, or soft cheeses such as chèvre. Its floral and fruit-driven notes also make it an inspired companion to lightly spiced Asian cuisine or charcuterie boards. Equally delightful on a sunny afternoon or alongside an elegant dinner, it is a versatile and memorable expression of Pinot Noir in white form.

The 2023 Left Coast Cellars White Pinot Noir highlights both innovation and respect for terroir, delivering a bright, floral, and textured wine that continues to captivate with each new vintage.
