Sensory Description:

The 2023 Lamadrid Single Vineyard Malbec unfolds with enticing aromas of blackberry, blackcurrant, cracked pepper, and toasted nuts. On the palate, it shows medium to full body, defined by firm yet refined tannins and a finely grained texture. Notes of dark fruit mingle with hints of spice and earth, leading to a long, persistent finish that balances power with poise. This is a pure expression of Agrelo terroir, fresh, focused, and gracefully structured.

Winemaker's Background:

Lamadrid Estate Wines was founded by Guillermo García Lamadrid, whose life journey from Cuba to Argentina inspired a project rooted in family, resilience, and legacy. Named in tribute to his mother, Matilde Lamadrid, the estate represents her strength and sacrifice, “the woman who opened the door to allow me to live and spread my wings.” From its base in Agrelo, one of Argentina’s most celebrated wine regions, Lamadrid Estate produces wines that showcase authenticity, terroir, and soul. Winemaker Angelina Yañez, alongside consulting brothers Héctor and Pablo Durigutti, crafts wines that respect the land and elevate the fruit. The team’s philosophy emphasizes minimal intervention, precision, and trust, values that have guided Lamadrid since its first harvest.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to accentuate the wine’s layered aromatics and supple tannins. The 2023 Lamadrid Single Vineyard Malbec pairs beautifully with grilled beef, roasted lamb, mushroom risotto, or aged cheeses. Its structure and balance also make it a superb companion for slow-simmered stews and hearty pasta dishes.

The 2023 Lamadrid Single Vineyard Malbec is a heartfelt expression of heritage and craftsmanship, a wine that not only honors the terroir of Agrelo but also celebrates the enduring spirit of family and the courage to dream.
