Sensory Description: This Pinot Meunier glows ruby red in the glass, inviting you into a vibrant bouquet of roses, raspberry, red cherry, and blueberry. These fresh fruit notes are layered with intriguing hints of lime, passionfruit, cranberry, and strawberry, complemented by the complexity of dried herbs, cherry pie, and subtle touches of cinnamon bark and eucalyptus mint. On the palate, this wine is dry with medium-plus acidity, medium-minus chalky tannins, and a medium body. It offers a medium concentration of flavors that evolve into a finish of dried cranberry, cinnamon, earth, and sweet tobacco.

Winemaker's Background: Weingut Darting, with 24 hectares of prime vineyard sites, has been a cornerstone of the Bad-Dürkheim region since 1780. However, it wasn’t until 1989 that the family began bottling their own wine under their label. Helmut Darting, the current winemaker, embraces a philosophy of minimal-intervention, honed during his studies under Hans-Günter Schwarz at Müller-Catoir. His reductive winemaking approach, including cold fermentation with natural yeasts and minimal oxygen exposure, allows the pure character of the grapes and terroir to shine through in every bottle.

Serving Suggestions: This versatile Pinot Meunier pairs beautifully with a wide range of dishes. Enjoy it lightly chilled with picnic foods such as seared white meat, sausage, or fried sardines. At room temperature, it complements savory, hearty, and spicy dishes like lamb, lentils, and bean dishes. Its adaptability makes it an excellent choice for both casual and elegant dining occasions.
