The 2020 Simon di Brazzan ‘Tradizion’ Pinot Grigio Venezia Giulia IGT is a sophisticated take on Pinot Grigio that blends traditional methods with expressive depth. Sourced from the Brazzano di Cormons area in Friuli-Venezia Giulia and grown with biodynamic principles, this wine shows what Pinot Grigio can achieve when given greater texture, nuance, and attention in the vineyard and cellar.

  • Viticulture: Biodynamic farming; manual harvest in early October; canopy work (leaf removal) to ensure grape health & ripeness
  • Winemaking: Indigenous yeast fermentation; part of the must is macerated on skins in truncated conical vats (~25‐day maceration), followed by separation using traditional press; aging partly in small wood (≈7.5 hl barrels) for ~15 months
  • Alcohol by Volume: ~14%
  • Production: Limited edition (~3,200 bottles)

Sensory Description:

This Tradizion Pinot Grigio displays a striking copper-tinged hue with a luminous edge. On the nose, it offers aromas of rose, cherries in spirit, and delicate floral notes, underpinned by ripe orchard fruit and a metallic minerality. The palate is rich and warm, with texture and depth unusual in many whites: skin contact gives gentle tannins and structure, while flavors of stone fruit, herbs, and a hint of spice persist. Its finish is long, balanced, and distinctly savory, with a refined grip and lingering aromatic aftertaste.
