Sensory Description:
Deep ruby red, this Merlot delivers fragrant aromas of ripe raspberries, cherries, and violets. On the palate, it is lush and harmonious, with supple tannins and generous notes of red berries. The wine finishes smooth and persistent, with a lingering softness that reflects both ripeness and finesse.
Winemaker's Background:
The De Stefani family has been producing wines in Veneto, Italy, for five generations. The “Redentore” line is certified sustainable through Equalitas, Biodiversity Friend, and SQNPI, underscoring their commitment to responsible viticulture. Grapes are grown in the Piave Valley and the UNESCO World Heritage hills of Conegliano Valdobbiadene, where warm days and cool nights, combined with mineral-rich clay soils and proximity to both sea and mountains, create optimal conditions for expressive wines. “Redentore” means redemption, honoring Venice’s liberation from the plague of 1575–1577, and celebrates one of the city's most cherished traditions: the Festa del Redentore.
Serving Suggestions:
Serve at 16–18°C with stewed meats, roast beef, pork, or seasoned cheeses. Its fruit-forward elegance also complements hearty pastas and richly flavored Venetian classics.
This 2022 Redentore Merlot delle Venezie IGT, Italy, invites you to celebrate life’s milestones, big or small, with a wine steeped in history, crafted with care, and destined to delight.
