Gramercy Cellars Picpoul is a rare gem from Washington’s Columbia Valley, delivering an intense freshness that has become a signature of this unique varietal. Originally intended as a one-time production, the popularity of Gramercy's Picpoul led to its revival and has since become one of the winery’s most sought-after wines. Sourced from Los Oidos and Les Collines vineyards, this Picpoul captures the vibrant acidity and crisp profile reminiscent of France’s Picpoul de Pinet, with a unique Washington State twist.

Sensory Description This 2023 Picpoul bursts with bold aromas of Meyer lemon, honeydew, and cantaloupe, with undertones of tangerine, honey, and a touch of ginger. The palate reveals mouthwatering acidity, accompanied by notes of river stone and a hint of salty sea breeze that speaks to its mineral edge. While it shows slightly more weight than the 2022 vintage, it retains the bright, puckering acidity that makes it a perfect, refreshing choice for summer. Crisp, food-friendly, and deeply satisfying, this wine is a delicious testament to Gramercy’s minimalist approach.

Winemaker's Background Gramercy Cellars, founded by sommelier-turned-winemaker Greg Harrington, combines old-world techniques with Washington’s terroir, creating wines that are both elegant and robust. Established in 2005 after Harrington left his career in Manhattan to pursue winemaking, Gramercy Cellars has since built a reputation for Rhône and Bordeaux varietals crafted with minimalist techniques and organic practices. Their wines undergo slow, patient aging, often in neutral vessels, to bring out the most authentic expression of their carefully sourced grapes. Gramercy’s commitment to organic farming and restraint in winemaking consistently yields wines that showcase the unique characteristics of the Walla Walla region.

Serving Suggestions Serve Gramercy Cellars Picpoul well-chilled at around 45°F to 50°F. This wine’s high acidity and briny notes make it a perfect match for seafood dishes, particularly oysters, mussels, and shrimp ceviche. It also pairs beautifully with tangy goat cheese, grilled vegetables, and light Mediterranean fare. Enjoy it on warm days for a refreshing experience that complements the season’s fresh, vibrant flavors.
