Born from the rugged foothills of San Rafael and shaped by both legacy and innovation, the 2021 Funckenhausen Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon, Mendoza, Argentina is a bold yet refined expression of the land. Crafted by winemaker Jimena López with grapes grown on land first planted by the Heinlein family in 2005, this Cabernet delivers ripe varietal character softened by the elegance of Malbec and the structure of Petit Verdot.

Winemaker's Background:

Funckenhausen Vineyards was founded by Kurt Heinlein as a tribute to his German ancestry and a legacy for future generations. After an extensive search across Mendoza, he found the ideal site in San Rafael in 2003. Planted in 2005 with Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah, the estate has since grown into a revered winery focused on site-driven wines with soul. Guided by agronomist Aquiles Lucchini and winemaker Jimena López, the estate combines old-world inspiration with modern techniques to produce elegant Argentine wines.
