Sensory Description:

This vibrant red showcases a lifted bouquet of rose petals, wild herbs, and red berries that bursts from the glass with intoxicating aromatic energy. On the palate, it strikes a compelling balance between delicate florality and firm structure, with notes of dark cherry, anise, and peppery spice layered over a fine mineral base. The wine’s tannic backbone is beautifully integrated, offering a persistent, dry finish that is both savory and refreshing.

Winemaker's Background:

The Ferraris family’s journey with Ruchè spans a century and a continent, tracing back to a California gold rush fortune and returning home to the hills of Monferrato. Luca Ferraris, the estate’s visionary leader, has transformed this once-overlooked grape into a regional star. Since 2001, Luca has led the winery to national and international recognition, expanding its vineyard holdings and refining its practices while serving as president of the Ruchè producers association. Today, Ferraris is synonymous with Ruchè—an ambassador of the grape and the land.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve at 16–18°C in a large tulip glass to accentuate the wine’s aromatics. This Ruchè pairs exceptionally well with game meats, grilled pork, charcuterie, and aged cheeses. Its floral brightness also makes it a fine companion for mushroom risottos or herbed pasta dishes.

A wine of personality and place, the Ferraris 'Clasic' Ruchè di Castagnole Monferrato DOCG, Piedmont, Italy, is more than a bottle—it’s a living piece of Monferrato heritage. Bold, aromatic, and rooted in history, it invites you to experience the unique elegance of Italy’s aromatic red treasure.
