Sensory Description:

Bright ruby red in the glass, this Chianti opens with aromas of red cherry, strawberry, and rose hips layered with subtle notes of dried blood orange and savory herbs. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and juicy, showing balance between ripe fruit and fresh acidity, framed by soft tannins and a touch of earthiness. The finish is lively and elegant, leaving behind flavors of plum and orange rind.

Winemaker's Background:

Fattoria di Piazzano, located in the Empolese Valdelsa hills of Tuscany, has been under the stewardship of the Bettarini family since 1948, when Otello Bettarini fell in love with the property and transformed it into his life’s passion. Today, Rolando and Ilaria Bettarini, supported by Rolando’s wife Michela, lead the third generation with a deep commitment to organic, sustainable farming and eco-conscious practices. Their philosophy emphasizes the preservation of terroir, balance with nature, and careful craftsmanship in both vineyard and cellar.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve at 60–64 °F after 30 minutes of decanting. Ideal with Mediterranean cuisine, tomato-based pastas, roasted meats, or classic Tuscan fare like ribollita. Its freshness and supple tannins also make it a versatile partner for charcuterie and aged cheeses.

This vintage of Fattoria di Piazzano Chianti DOCG encapsulates the vibrancy and elegance of Tuscany’s most famous wine region, offering an authentic expression of place that is both timeless and full of life.
