Sensory Description:

This lightly amber-hued wine opens with bright and aromatic notes of orange peel, lemon balm, and dried sage. A playful layer of tropical citrus and candied cereal, think Fruit Pebbles, adds youthful energy. On the palate, it’s textured and broad with a thread of refreshing acidity, finishing with a curious pop of kumquat and subtle salinity.

Winemaker's Background:

Escala Humana is the vision of husband-and-wife team Germán and Ayelén Masera, who founded the project in 2015 to celebrate Argentina’s lesser-known grape varieties through sustainable farming and low-intervention winemaking. Germán, a veteran winemaker since 2003, works alongside local growers in El Zampal to preserve old vines like the Malvasía found in the Pelegrina vineyard. Vinification takes place at Matías Michelini’s Passionate Winery in Tupungato, where the Maseras produce wines that speak authentically of heritage and terroir.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve lightly chilled, between 50–54°F. This wine’s aromatic intensity and textural complexity make it a standout pairing with dishes like roasted carrot and fennel salad, octopus ceviche, or lemony white bean hummus. It's an adventurous bottle that rewards curiosity, on its own or at the table.
