Sensory Description:

Light in body but rich in aromatic detail, this wine opens with high-toned notes of raspberry, cranberry, and crushed herbs. Warming spices like clove and cinnamon linger beneath, giving way to a soft, silky palate. With moderate acidity and fine tannins, it draws easy comparisons to cool-climate Gamay or Trousseau, bright, fresh, and endlessly drinkable.

Winemaker's Background:

Escala Humana was established by Ayelén and Germán Masera in 2015 to revive the cultural and viticultural history of Argentina’s lesser-known grapes and terroirs. Germán, a veteran winemaker since 2003, has made it his mission to bring attention to old-vine plots like La Pérgola in El Zampal. The couple vinifies their wines at Matías Michelini’s Passionate Winery in Tupungato, embracing native yeasts, neutral oak, and minimal intervention to allow the vineyard’s voice to shine through.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve slightly chilled at 55–58°F to emphasize its freshness. This wine’s delicate red fruit and savory spice are ideal alongside charcuterie, herb-roasted chicken, grilled trout, or a summer salad with goat cheese and berries. A versatile option for casual dinners or small gatherings.
