Sensory Description:

Sourgal pours a vivid yellow with glints of green, brilliant in the glass. The nose is intensely floral and multi-layered, offering heady aromas of orange blossom, yellow peach, fresh sage, and the unmistakable perfume of just-picked Muscat grapes. On the palate, it’s sweet yet balanced, lively with crisp acidity and a gentle sparkle that dances across the tongue. Its freshness and vibrancy make it irresistibly drinkable.

Winemaker's Background:

The Elio Perrone estate has been a fixture in Castiglione Tinella since the 1850s, but it was Stefano Perrone who ushered in a new era with the first bottling in 1989. A former motorcycle racer, Stefano brings the same daring precision to winemaking that he once brought to the racetrack. He farms organically with minimal intervention, believing that great wine is made through balance and respect for the land. His vineyards, often northwest-facing to retain acidity, deliver Moscato with lifted aromatics and refreshing brightness.

Serving Suggestions:

Best served chilled between 4–5°C, this Moscato d’Asti is a delightful match for cookies, fruit tarts, panettone, and other leavened desserts. It also shines as a pre-meal aperitif alongside salty finger foods like cured meats, nuts, or olives.

The 2024 Elio Perrone Sourgal, Moscato d'Asti DOCG, Italy is a true celebration of life’s sweeter moments. Bursting with fruit, flowers, and sparkle, it offers a joyous and balanced experience that’s as charming at brunch as it is at the end of a fine meal. This is Moscato at its most elegant and expressive, crafted to be sipped young and savored often.
