Founded in 1832 by master cooper José Antonio Sierra, Bodegas El Maestro Sierra emerged from humble beginnings to challenge the nobility-dominated sherry world. Sierra, who once built barrels for major sherry houses, decided to craft superior sherry himself, despite resistance from the local elite. His wines triumphed through sheer quality, and the bodega became one of the most respected almacenistas in the region. Today, it remains a small, independent house preserving the purest traditions of Jerez.
