A lifted and elegant expression of Corsica’s Vermentinu, the 2023 La Robe d’Ange Blanc delivers floral perfume, minerality, and energy in harmonious balance. With organic farming, native yeasts, and thoughtful élevage across multiple vessels, it blends freshness and texture in a way that feels both refined and inviting. This wine showcases the power of terroir above the Bravone River terraces—bright, graceful, and thoroughly drinkable.

Product Details

  • Grape Variety: 100% Vermentinu

Sensory Description
The wine opens with bright aromatics: white flowers, citrus blossom, a touch of yellow apple, and subtle warmed butter. The palate is round and textured yet maintains lively freshness, with zesty acidity cutting through to balance richness. The mix of vessel types imparts a complex inner palate—notes of creamy lees, chalky mineral under tones, saline hints, and a gentle almond echo. The finish is crisp and persistent, leaving citrus pith and soft stone fruit behind, with freshness that entices the next sip.

Producer’s Background
Clos Fornelli is a family property located on Corsica’s eastern flank, above the plains near Aléria, working under certified organic farming. Owners Josée Vanucci and Fabrice Couloumère cultivate classic Corsican grape varieties—Vermentinu foremost among them—on deep, decomposed slate and clay soils with good drainage. Winemaking is low intervention: fermentations use native yeasts, vessels are diverse and largely non-new, sulphur is minimized, and ageing is patient. Their goal is wines that express place, clarity, and pleasure.

Serving Suggestions
Serve chilled, around 54–57°F, to highlight its floral aromatics and minerality. Beautiful with shellfish (oysters, clams), grilled fish with herb oil, fresh goat cheese, or light poultry dishes with citrus or herb sauces. Also a lovely match for Mediterranean cuisine or dishes with lemon and olive oil. A superb choice for fans of aromatic, terroir-driven white wines and a great companion for warm afternoon sipping or seafood-forward dinners.
