Sensory Description:

In the glass, the wine shows a deep ruby hue with flashes of violet. The nose is immediately alive with wild cherries, blackcurrants, and Mediterranean herbs, layered with hints of spice and subtle marine minerality. On the palate, it's juicy and vibrant, with moderate tannins, a graceful acidity, and a medium body that allows the fruit to sing. Aging in neutral vessels preserves freshness and fruit purity, making it light-footed yet characterful.

Winemaker's Background:

Francesco Cirelli established his estate in 2003 after graduating with a degree in Economics and leaving behind a naval academy education. With help from his fiancée, Michela, he transformed 23 hectares in Abruzzo into a biodynamic farm that integrates livestock, olive groves, and vineyards. Francesco's wines, like his amphora-fermented favorites, celebrate artisanal methods and respect for nature, eschewing intervention in favor of soulful, transparent winemaking.

Serving Suggestions:

Best served at 60–64°F (16–18°C), this Rosso pairs beautifully with rustic fare such as arrosticini (lamb skewers), pasta alla chitarra with tomato sauce, grilled eggplant, or pizza topped with mushrooms and pecorino. Its moderate alcohol and bright acidity make it incredibly food-friendly.

This is Montepulciano stripped of excess, no oak, no polish, just pure fruit and place. The Cirelli 'La Collina Biologica' Rosso Abruzzo is a reminder that real wine doesn't need embellishment to shine.
