Sensory Description:

In the glass, Mesdì Rosso shows a bright, light ruby core with subtle orange reflections. The bouquet is fragrant with rose petals, hints of sweet spice, and touches of dark chocolate. On the palate, red fruit flavors of cherry and raspberry mingle with orchard freshness and savory spice, framed by moderate tannins and balanced acidity. The finish is elegant and lifted, marked by a minerality that reflects the high-altitude vineyards of Barolo.

Winemaker's Background:

460 Casina Bric takes its name from the elevation of its vineyards, between 420 and 500 meters, making them among the highest in Barolo. “Casina Bric” translates to “Cascina Bricco” in Piedmontese dialect, and the estate embodies both tradition and innovation. Founded in 2010 by Gianluca Viberti after more than two decades working in family vineyards, the winery focuses on authentic expressions of Nebbiolo, crafted through minimal intervention and deep respect for the land. Viberti employs time-honored methods such as fermenting in cement vats and using the historic Poirinotta bottle, a style dating back to the 1700s. This dedication results in wines of originality, freshness, and strong connection to place.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve at 60–64 °F in a tulip-shaped glass to highlight its aromatics and freshness. The 2019 Mesdì Rosso is ideal with pasta dishes in tomato or meat sauce, roasted butternut squash, wild mushroom risotto, and hearty Piedmontese specialties. It also pairs beautifully with lamb stew, braised meats, or a cheese board featuring Gorgonzola and other medium-aged varieties.

The 2019 460 Casina Bric 'Mesdì' Rosso is a true expression of Langhe Nebbiolo: vibrant, food-friendly, and deeply tied to the traditions of Piedmont, offering both everyday enjoyment and authentic regional character.
