Sensory Description:

This Chianti opens with intense aromas of violets and an earthy, iron-rich ("hematic") minerality that is distinctly Caparsa. On the palate, expect savory red fruit, vibrant acidity, and firm but approachable tannins that reflect its youth and aging potential. Unencumbered by oak, the wine remains fresh and transparent, delivering a pure expression of Sangiovese and place.

Winemaker's Background:

Founded in 1982 by Paolo Cianferoni, Caparsa is a proudly artisanal and organic estate nestled in the hills of Radda in Chianti. The winery is committed to traditional, minimal-intervention methods that include cement and large oak vessels, with no filtration. Caparsa wines are known for their purity, elegance, and clear sense of place, embodying the rugged beauty of their high-altitude vineyards.

Serving Suggestions:

This wine shines with Tuscan classics like Maccheroni alla poderana, a rustic pasta dish with sausage, artichokes, and fava beans. It also pairs beautifully with red meats, poultry, and hearty grain-based dishes. Decant for 30–60 minutes before serving at around 60–65°F (16–18°C) to unlock its full aromatic and textural potential.

For lovers of traditional Chianti with a natural touch, this wine is a stellar introduction to both the region and the Caparsa estate. Its balance, drinkability, and aging promise make it a rewarding bottle for the table or cellar.
