Winemaker's Background:

Pewsey Vale Vineyard was first established in 1847 by Englishman Joseph Gilbert and later revitalized in 1961 by Geoffrey Parsons, who recognized its historical and viticultural significance. Working with Wyndham Hill Smith, he replanted the site in contoured rows that remain today. The soils, shallow sands over quartz and schist gravels, are ideal for Riesling, allowing the grape to express Eden Valley’s hallmark citrus, minerality, and lifted aromatics with clarity. The winery has remained committed to single-vineyard, single-varietal Riesling ever since, producing only three focused expressions: Prima (off-dry), The Contours (aged), and the flagship Dry Riesling.

Serving Suggestions:

Enjoy the Pewsey Vale Dry Riesling slightly chilled with seared scallops, Thai noodle salad, salt and pepper squid, or fresh oysters. It also complements dishes like tomato salad with pickled walnuts or creamy goat cheese. Ideal serving temperature: 45–50°F.

The Pewsey Vale Dry Riesling, Eden Valley, Australia, is a stunning example of site-driven winemaking and generational excellence. For those who crave energy, complexity, and longevity in a white wine, this bottle offers both immediate pleasure and rewarding potential in the cellar.
