Demarie's Langhe Nebbiolo is a youthful yet refined expression of Piedmont’s most noble grape. Sourced from young vines in the sandy, fossil-rich soils of Roero, this unoaked Nebbiolo shines with its pure fruit character and lively structure. The Demarie family has been practicing organic farming for over a decade, achieving certification in 2020. With a commitment to sustainability, their winery operates using solar-powered green technology, further reducing their environmental impact.

Sensory Description:

Jessica describes this as a “Nebbiolo with its sleeves rolled up—structured but approachable.” Dark berry fruits lead the way, supported by earthy undertones, cocoa, and a whisper of dried flowers. The absence of oak allows the fruit to shine, while the fine-grained tannins and vibrant acidity give this wine a lively and fresh finish.

Winemaker’s Background:

The Demarie family’s roots in winemaking stretch back to the late 1800s. The estate, officially founded in 1957 by Giovanni Demarie, remains family-run, now led by Aldo and Paolo. Their 30-hectare estate in Roero focuses on native varietals, organic farming, and terroir-driven winemaking. In 2013, they built a state-of-the-art, eco-friendly winery powered by solar energy. Alongside traditional wines, they explore natural techniques, including pét-nats and skin-contact whites.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve at 55–60°F and decant for up to 30 minutes before enjoying. This Nebbiolo is a perfect match for roasted chicken, pork dishes, or creamy pasta. The bright acidity also cuts beautifully through rich cheeses—try it with Taleggio or a young Fontina.
