Diebolt Brewing Company

Founded in 2013 in Denver’s Sunnyside neighborhood by father-and-son duo Dan and Jack Diebolt, Diebolt Brewing Company is a proudly family-owned microbrewery that blends heritage, experimentation, and community spirit into every pint. Their home base, a striking, brick-built, 8,000-square-foot former government meat-packaging facility from the 1950s, is more than just a production space. It’s a character-rich backdrop where an efficient 15-barrel brewhouse and a mix of 15- and 30-barrel fermenters combine to deliver dynamic, limited-edition beers. With 210 barrels of fermentation capacity, every beer is crafted, fermented, packaged onsite, and self-distributed across Denver’s Metro area and along the Front Range.

Diebolt’s brewing roots stretch back generations, with ancestors making Champagne in France. This lineage, along with Dan’s early homebrewing in Oklahoma and his father pressing grapes in a garage, inspired the brewery’s French-influenced beer styles, from saisons to classic farmhouse ales, woven into a wider repertoire that now spans IPAs, lagers, fruited sours, barrel-aged stouts, and more.

The tasting room, cozy yet creatively utilized, serves as both a gathering spot and a brewery showcase. With indoor seating for 50, a lively adjacent space for private events or live music, games like ping-pong and cornhole, and a warm, welcoming ambiance infused with family energy, Diebolt’s taproom reflects their belief in connection beyond beer.

Despite their playful spirit, Diebolt is serious about quality, and their achievements prove it. Their barrel-aged barleywine Populator earned a Silver medal at the 2023 Great American Beer Festival, and their Vladislav barrel-aged imperial stout took Gold at the prestigious World Beer Cup in the Wood- and Barrel-Aged Strong Stout category.

Over the past ten years, Diebolt has crafted hundreds of unique beers, expanded its fermenting capacity from 60 to over 210 barrels, and grown from a one-person operation to a team of nine, including longtime contributors who have been part of the brewery’s journey for years. Even through Denver’s booming brewery scene, pandemic challenges, inflation, and equipment failures, the team has stayed grounded in the community they’ve helped build.

Diebolt Brewing isn’t just about creating beer; it’s about brewing experiences shaped by history, innovation, and shared moments. Their lineup channels both ancestral heritage and playful curiosity, and each limited-edition release is a celebration of craftsmanship, family, and the joy of discovery.
