Sensory Description:

The No.9 Cabernet Sauvignon in the glass reveals deep aromas of black cherry, cocoa, and baking spice. The palate is dense and richly textured, with layers of ripe blackberry, cassis, and dark plum complemented by notes of mocha, vanilla, and cedar. Silky tannins and a core of vibrant mountain acidity provide structure and balance, leading to a long, elegant finish.

Winemaker's Background:

Founded in 2010 by wine broker and former sommelier Matt Ahern, The Wonderland Project is driven by a mission to celebrate California’s exceptional vineyard sites. While initially known for Sonoma County Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, the project has expanded into Napa Valley with the same commitment to minimal intervention and authenticity. Each wine is crafted using native yeasts and traditional methods to allow site and vintage to shine through.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve at 60–65°F (16–18°C). This mountain-grown Cabernet Sauvignon is an excellent match for grilled ribeye, braised short ribs, or rosemary lamb chops. Its richness and structure also pair beautifully with aged cheddar, mushroom risotto, or dark chocolate desserts.

The 2022 The Wonderland Project No.9 Cabernet Sauvignon offers a bold yet refined expression of Napa Valley, perfect for collectors and enthusiasts alike seeking a wine that speaks clearly of its rugged mountain terroir and careful craftsmanship.
