This vintage of Piazza Family Wines Pinot Noir is a stunning expression of the 2022 vintage and the unique terroir of Mt. Carmel Vineyard. Crafted with precision, it reveals a delicate balance between bright cranberry acidity, silky texture, and mineral-driven complexity. Notes of orange and clove oil, cranberries, rose petals, and raspberry tea harmonize beautifully, leading to a long, chalky finish.

Sensory Description
This wine opens with a vibrant bouquet of orange and clove oil, cranberries, and rose petals. The palate is richly textured with layers of spice and raspberry tea, supported by bright cranberry acidity and a silky-smooth texture. A mineral-driven core carries the flavors through to a long, chalky finish, offering a refreshing counterpoint to the wine’s depth and concentration.

Producer's Background
Piazza Family Wines is rooted in the philosophy that great wines begin in the vineyard. Founded in 2018 by Ron and Nancy Piazza, the boutique winery is located in Ballard Canyon’s Bella Vista Vineyard. With the guidance of esteemed vineyard manager Ruben Solorzano, the estate follows organic farming practices to produce wines that reflect the terroir’s unique qualities. Winemaker Gretchen Voelcker brings her passion for minimal-intervention winemaking, ensuring that each wine captures a true sense of place, varietal character, and balance.

About the Winemaker
Gretchen Voelcker, a Pennsylvania native with a love of the outdoors, brings a fresh perspective to Piazza Family Wines. Her winemaking journey began in high school during a trip to French wine regions, later earning her a degree in Plant Sciences from UC Santa Cruz. With experience in Santa Barbara County, Central Otago, and with Ryan Roark, Gretchen is known for her meticulous approach and commitment to organic practices. Her wines focus on minimal interference, allowing the fruit to shine with purity and precision.
