Odyssey Beerwerks

Odyssey Beerwerks is a journey in craft beer, born from wanderlust, adventure, and a love of both good travel stories and great brews. Established in 2013 in Arvada, Colorado, by husband-and-wife team Chris and Deana Hill, the brewery has grown from a passion project into a full-production craft beer destination known for its lineup of bold flagships, adventurous seasonals, and a taproom that feels a bit like home for everyone.

From the very beginning, Odyssey has stood for variety, creativity, and community. The Hills, with a small, tight-knit team, package six year-round beers and roll out many more seasonals, experimenting with an expansive range of styles, from hoppy IPAs to rich porters, from crisp lagers to wild Belgian ales. Their core beers, among them Ghost Drifter Pale Ale, HelioCentric Hefeweizen, Psycho Penguin Vanilla Porter, Palm Tree Caribbean Lager, Clan Warrior Scotch Ale, and others, are widely distributed in cans and kegs throughout the Front Range. Over time, they’ve racked up awards, Golds at the Colorado State Fair, Silver at the Great American Beer Festival, Gold at the World Beer Cup, and earned recognition with Untappd Community Awards, all testaments to consistency, quality, and momentum.

The brewery is run with warmth and personality. Chris handles everything from brewing to fixing what needs fixing; he’s the Chief Beer Peddler. Deana, the Maven of Miscellany, juggles marketing, events, bookkeeping, and the many parts that make the brewery run smoothly. Beyond owners, the crew includes longtime staff who bring energy, craft, and fun to their roles: Dan the Beer Emissary, Andy the Beer Baron, Chad the Director of Draft (who once toured more than 300 breweries), and Nick the Liaison of Libations. Their personalities show up in the beer, the atmosphere, and the way people talk about Odyssey.

One thing Odyssey has done exceptionally is build a taproom culture where people linger. Friendships are formed there, stories are shared, and even weddings and engagements have happened over beer. Their taproom is not just a place to drink; it’s a meeting point for beer lovers, neighbors, and wanderers. They host food trucks, frequent events, and rotate seasonals so there’s always something new. Their location in Arvada gives them both a neighborhood feel and proximity to Denver without the bustle.

Growth has been deliberate. The brewery operates with a canning line, delivers to local stores and bars, and sells draft beer in many venues. They’ve transitioned over time to self-distribution in certain cases to maintain control and connection with their customer base.

What makes Odyssey Beerwerks special is the blend of heart and experimentation. The beer isn’t just about flavor; it’s about stories, journeys, and the connection between people. Each beer (flagship or seasonal) is a little odyssey in a glass. If you’re looking for beer that’s bold, welcoming, rooted in craft, and adventurous in spirit, you’ll find that in every pint at Odyssey.
