Founded by Ross and Amy Koenigs, Second Dawn Brewing Co. was born from a mix of passion, perseverance, and community spirit. After over a decade at New Belgium Brewing Company, where Ross helped develop renowned beers like Voodoo Ranger, Hemperor, and Oak Spire, he set out to build something deeply personal with Amy, a native Coloradan and graphic designer. Together, they transformed a former auto body shop in North Aurora into a warm, inclusive brewery and taproom. Their name, “Second Dawn,” is both a nod to their hometown of Aurora (“dawn” in Latin) and to the idea of renewal, the moment when the workday ends, and the best part of life begins.
